1000m above sea level!
Mt. Oakan becomes visible on the left. I like the view from here a lot.
And the trail to the summit is getting steeper.
Passing the No.7 !
Large rocks become more prominent around us, and we can feel the steepness of the volcano.
From the No.9 to the summit!
From here on, the trail becomes unobstructed, so keep an eye out for strong winds.
If the weather is clear, you will be able to see the crater and the spectacular view.
Descent + Lake Onneto!
The wind was strong and the scenery was white, so we started our descent as soon as possible.
We couldn’t go on the climbing course we had originally planned, so we talked about how we would like to come back to climb again.
Lake Onneto was a quiet and beautiful place, and I highly recommend that you visit it.
Lake Akan!
We returned to Hotel Sansuiso, where we stayed for the second night, and took a stroll along the shores of Lake Akan.
The area around Lake Akan is quite enjoyable with its well maintained walking paths!
If you go to the far end, you can see something rare like mud volcano.
Summary
If possible, I would have liked to visit Mount Sei-Akan and Mount O-Akan when the weather was clear.
If it is raining, I would recommend a walk around the shores of Lake Akan.
There are also beautiful lakes such as Lake Mashu and Lake Kussharo nearby, so you should definitely visit those too!
